About Me

Celeste Taylor

Welcome to Wild Waldorf! I’m a mother of 4 living in sunny Florida, certified health coach (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), certified Breathwork instructor, and the creator of this coastal approach to Waldorf education and family living.

Hello, I’m Celeste

Welcome to Wild Waldorf! I’m a Naples-based mom, certified health coach (Institute for Integrative Nutrition), SOMA breathwork instructor, and the creator of this coastal approach to Waldorf education and family living.

My journey to Wild Waldorf began when my children were young and I found myself drawn to the beauty of Waldorf education—its emphasis on rhythm, nature connection, and honoring childhood as a sacred time. But as a Florida native living along the Gulf Coast, I quickly discovered a disconnect. Traditional Waldorf resources centered around European seasonal cycles, woodland materials, and cold-weather traditions that simply don’t exist in our subtropical paradise.

I’d find myself looking at a nature table filled with pinecones and acorns, wondering why we were trying to recreate a northern autumn when outside our windows, the palm trees swayed and the Gulf waters called with their own unique rhythms and gifts.

This disconnect sparked a journey of adaptation and discovery. I began to ask questions that would eventually form the foundation of our Wild Waldorf approach:

  • How might we honor Florida’s subtle seasonal shifts rather than imported concepts of fall and winter?
  • What would a “nature table” look like with materials our children actually find during beach visits?
  • How could hurricane season, tidal rhythms, and tropical weather patterns inform our yearly flow?
  • What handwork makes sense using abundant palm fronds and seashells rather than wool and beeswax?

Through years of experimentation, observation, and learning alongside my children, our Wild Waldorf approach took shape—an authentic adaptation that honors both traditional Waldorf principles and our unique subtropical environment.

My Path to Holistic Integration

My background has uniquely prepared me for this integration of education, environment, and wellness:

My passion for holistic started when I had my first baby. I wanted the best outcome for her which led me to study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I earned my certification as a health coach. Learning how nutrition, movement, and environment interconnect to support wellbeing transformed how I approached family life.

My SOMA breathwork certification added another dimension to our journey, showing me how conscious breathing practices could help children navigate emotions and transitions—especially when connected to the natural rhythms of waves and tides.

These threads—Waldorf education, coastal living, health coaching, and breathwork—have woven together into the Wild Waldorf approach I share today.

Our Family Life

I live in Naples, Florida with my husband Will and our 4 children, who have been my greatest teachers on this journey. Our days are shaped by beach visits, seasonal observations, creative projects using coastal materials, and a rhythm that honors both our environment and our individual needs.

Monday and Saturday mornings you’ll almost always find us at the shore, where we gather materials for our nature table, practice our breathwork with the waves as our guide, and let the Gulf be our most important classroom.

Our home reflects our coastal Waldorf approach—seasonal tables displaying shells and sea glass, handwork projects made from palm fronds and coconuts, and spaces that encourage both creativity and calm.

Sharing Our Wild Waldorf Journey

What began as personal adaptations for my family has grown into a passion for supporting other coastal families seeking an educational and lifestyle approach that honors our unique environment.

Through this blog, seasonal guides, and our growing community, I share practical ways to:

  • Create authentic seasonal rhythms based on Florida’s subtle changes
  • Adapt traditional Waldorf elements for coastal environments
  • Integrate health coaching principles into family nutrition
  • Use breathwork to support emotional regulation and transitions
  • Build a meaningful family culture connected to our natural world

My approach emphasizes that in today’s world, children need fewer memorized facts (which they can access instantly) and more foundational life skills—emotional regulation, critical thinking, adaptability, and connection to natural systems.

"Children don't need more information in a world where facts are at their fingertips. They need deep connection to a place, emotional regulation skills, and our ability to navigate change with resilience. Our greatest gift isn't teaching them what to think, but nurturing how they feel, adapt, and belong to the natural world that surrounds them."
